Warm Climate of Kent
Time has shown that ,overall ,Kent benefits from a warm climate. Like many other counties in England it can also be open to extremes of weather conditions and whether or not you put this down to global warming or not is a matter of conjecture. As child I remember the long spells of snow covered ground ,so hard that it was difficult to break through with a pickaxe. Walking or skating on frozen water was a normal winter pastime. Alternately, the summer months were long with glorious sunshine and ,on occasions extremely hot with the dry spells generally ending with thunderstorms of varying magnitude and rain which was so warm we showered in its energy.
There are numerous factors which contribute to Kent’s weather including its nearness to the continental mainland and the channel flow (warm sea water acting as a reservoir of heat from the summer which helps to keep coastal areas milder overnight than inland areas in autumn) Its rainfall influenced by the heights of the High Weald and Downs affecting the intensity at different times of the year.

Holiday makers down the years have all enjoyed the long balmy days which make Kent a wonderful place to live and visit.
